In this class we review aspects of economic geology -- resource supply and demand, how they are produced, global impacts, effect on environment, etc. After that, we look at different kinds of ore/resource deposits and how they form.

The class has a seminar format, and students do much of the instruction.

Meets 11:00-11:50 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in 109 Leonard Hall.

This course looks at many different things that relate to environmental issues.  We consider biology, ecology, politics, economics, geography . . . many things.  And we look at contemporary environmental issues and try to figure out what they are really all about.  So, this course is intended to help students become thoughtful and informed citizens who are able to make rational judgments about controversial issues that are key to the survial and prosperity of people on Earth.
